CCIE Security - Books and preparation

Hi guys, This is a sort of general question regarding the preparation to CCIE Security. I already hold CCSP and just got my CCNP Security. I also have 6 to 7 years of experience working with cisco but I just decided now to go for the CCIE certification.  After some search on cisco website, I am not finding a "guide" to this certification. I can see a few resources in the CCIE Security page, but actually no ciscopress books or other materials. How am I suppose to study for CCIE Security? Should I study everything on the CCIE R&S and then go for some details on the security area? Study materials are just config guides or is there any official book for the security track? Or even, should I buy the CCIE R&S books? For the lab exam, do you recommend a specific course from a partner? Anyone has done that? Which one is the best?  I really appreciate any kind of help from you.  Thanks,Fernando

Did you check out this list of books?http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le3/c ... _list.html There has also been a recent Ask the Experts discussion on the CCIE Security examhttps://supportforums.cisco.com/message/3278264#3278264 I also suggest that you have a listen to TAC podcast on the CCIE Security exam from December of last year that had some good tips:http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/solu ... casts.html As far as training is concerned there are several reputable CCIE Security vendors out there, eg INE and IPExpert amongst others.Depending on your learning style it might be worthwhile to use one of these providers. It could be a tough journey if you are studying by yourself. It can also be difficult to remain focused and motivated without some coaching along the way.

Hi Sean, Thanks a lot for your quick reply. But what about if I was going to study by myself? Should I study using the CCIE R&S materials as well or is there a specific material for the CCIE Security track? Cheers. Fernando

Sean and all the studies for CCIE security should go through specific books or should I buy the CCIE R&S books? Thats the point because I see a lot of books (i.e. ciscopress) for CCIE R&S but not that much for CCIE Security. Thank you again! Ive rated all your replies since all of them were extremely helpful.
