SA520 Protocol Binding Question

Post by Guest » Sat Jan 29, 2005 1:13 pm

Im looking into getting an SA520 but I had a question about the protocol binding feature for use in a dual WAN setup. If the WAN ports have a dynamic IP:Send all VLAN 1 10.1.0.x Internet (Quad Zs) out WAN1Send all VLAN 100 (10.100.0.x) Internet (Quad Zs) out WAN2 Thanks.

Yes, that will work.  The protocol bindings work to an interface, not to an IP.  You can base rules based on protocol, source IP, or destination IP, and then select the interface you want the traffic to use.

Excellent,So I can set a range/wildcard for the source and Quad Zs for the destination then select WAN1/WAN 2. Without seeing the options in the GUI, I couldn be sure.I wish there was an emulator around that I could play with so that I could see the features. Thanks.
